mr's Preposter.us Blog

This morning I'm thinking about the successor of my current blog software, Preposter.us.  It has been a reliable collaborator for many years (at least twelve) but this morning I realized that what comes next will be something completely different.

I love Preposter.us, and I honestly believe that with a little work it could be perfect within itself, but what's happened to Internet Email is something that I can't fix, no matter how good Preposter.us is.

What I can do is make something better, and right now that better is a new kind of personal computer that works in a much different way than the computers I've used for email in the past, and very different from how most people use computers altogether today.

So the way I publish this blog will change radically once this new personal computer is good enough for me to use on a daily basis.

I don't know how soon that will be, it could very well be a long-ways off, and I could be using Preposter.us for years to come.  But I'm writing this now if for no other reason to cement in my mind that the new thing is coming.

Even when that day comes I don't plan to shut-down Preposter.us.  I will continue to pay for and operate the website, and I may even continue to work on the software.  I'd love to find others who are as passionate as myself to take the reigns and continue the work (ideally people with more time to spend on it) but even if that doesn't happen I don't see myself shutting it down anytime in the foreseeable future.

I should write more about what the next thing will be, but I kind of want to experiment with actually making it before talking too much about it.  I don't want to get painted into a corner.
